Some of you that know me may be saying "Oh hell, he's back", but I really never left. After running the previous version of My Treasure Spot for over 20 years, I just needed a break. Also, it was starting to get expensive. We hit a point in the world economy where many of my long time sponsors just had to tighten their belt and I completely understand.

This version of My Treasure Spot is very different in many ways. I'm not just going to focus on metal detecting. As like many of you, I have a lot of hobbies (too many according to the boss lady) and I wanted to have a place to discuss them. What fun is it unless I can make the place available to all my friends and future friends.

I also wanted to do something that did not cost an arm and leg. This version of My Treasure Spot is being setup and run using as many free or inexpensive tools as I can find. It may evolve into something else but this is a start.

Also, some of the sites that are used to discuss our hobbies (some of the big sites) just really piss people off and they won't use them. Hopefully they can find some value in having a smaller community and join in the fun.

Lastly, be sure to read the announcement called "Be nice" and the notice at the bottom of every page. I want this to be a friendly, no controversy, joke with each other, have fun kind of place. Help me keep it this way.
